Our safety performance
Rail safety statistics
The safety of our staff, passengers and the public is of paramount importance to RailCorp. That is why we have chosen to report a range of safety performance measures in a transparent manner on our website.
In keeping with our commitment to continue safety reporting, and in accordance with our desire to make the information published meaningful and relevant, we have aligned our safety report with the national standard prepared and accepted by all of Australia's rail regulatory authorities - Occurrence Notification Standard 1 (ON-S1). This move makes the incident definitions behind our information, and its format, consistent with other operators and rail regulators. Please note that data reported under the ON-S1 classification system is not comparable with our legacy reporting systems.
RailCorp will publish safety data for each calendar month on a quarterly basis. Data for each quarter will be published at the end of the following quarter.
Please make sure you read the safety definitions to get a clear picture of what our safety performance statistics mean.
