How do I apply and what is the selection process?
Recruitment process
Step 1. To apply please click on the link below. Please follow the online application process as requested. If you do not meet the selection criteria you will be advised by email that you have been unsuccessful.
Step 2. If you meet the selection criteria you will be contacted by phone within two weeks of our receiving your application and asked a series of competency based questions to determine your suitability for the role and commitment to the organisation.
Step 3. Subject to meeting this criteria you will be invited to attend an information session in Sydney’s CBD. At this session you will be given specific details about the program and information about career opportunities within RailCorp. You will also be invited to complete two online ability tests of verbal and numerical reasoning.
Step 4. If you successfully meet the required standard on both ability tests, you will then be invited to attend an Assessment Centre comprising of group and individual activities and role-plays, followed by a work style questionnaire.
Step 5. Upon successful completion of these assessments you will then have the opportunity to meet your potential manager and work colleagues at an informal meet & greet. Pre-employment checks (criminal history, medical assessment, including drug and alcohol and referee) will also be conducted.
Step 6. Offers will be made to successful candidates.
