2010 RailCorp apprenticeship recruitment process

How do I apply and what is the selection process?

1. Apply online. Applications will close on Friday 31 July at 5.00pm. Apply online at the RailCorp Career Centre webpage. Please follow the online application process as requested.

2. Phone interview. If you meet the selection criteria you will be contacted by phone on the numbers you have provided between 20 July and 14 August. You will be asked a series of competency-based questions to identify your suitability for the role.

3. Online testing. Should you progress from the telephone screening stage you will be emailed details requesting that you to complete a mechanical reasoning test online.

4. Information session and job related testing. Applicants who meet the required standard at the online testing will be invited to attend an information session in Sydney’s CBD. At this session you will be given specific details about the position and the recruitment and selection process. Further job related testing will also be conducted. Information sessions are scheduled for weekends from 15 August to 20 September.

5. Assessment centre. If you successfully meet the required standard at the job related tests you will be invited to attend an assessment centre. Assessment centres will run throughout August and September and will include group based and written activities.

6. Meet and greet. Applicants who progress from the Assessment Centre will be invited to participate in a Meet and Greet sessions. This is an opportunity for applicants to meet business representatives. This session is currently scheduled for October.

7. Offer. Pre-employment checks (criminal history, medical assessment - including drug and alcohol and reference checks) will be conducted and offers will be made to successful candidates to commence training in January 2010.
